This Privacy Policy is provided by CarZoo
("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of the CarZoo mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and lawfully.For privacy inquiries, data requests, or to exercise your rights, contact us at carzoosupport@gmail.com.
We collect the following categories of information:
Email address, username, and optional profile picture when you register.
Photos of vehicles ("Spots"), captions, comments, tags, and car meet ("Meet") details that you upload or post. By default, all Spots, including their attached GPS coordinates, are publicly visible
to all users on the Globe map and Paddock feed.We collect your precise GPS coordinates when you tag a Spot or Meet location. This is a sensitive category of data
under applicable state privacy laws (including California's CCPA). We collect location only when you are actively using the app (foreground only). We do not collect your location in the background. We do not sell, share, or use your location for advertising purposes.⚠️ IMPORTANT: When you post a Spot, the precise GPS coordinates you select are permanently and publicly attached to that post on our map. Anyone using CarZoo can see exactly where you took or tagged the photo. Only drop a pin at a location you are comfortable making public.
With your explicit permission, we access your device camera and photo library to allow you to capture and upload vehicle photos. We do not access your camera or photo library without a permissions prompt.
If you grant permission, we send push notifications for activity on your posts (likes, comments, follows) and upcoming car Meets. You may disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Information about how you interact with the App, including likes, saves, follows, blocks, and report actions.
CarZoo uses Google's Gemini AI
service to analyze vehicle photos you upload and identify the make, model, and rarity of the car. This means: • Your uploaded photo (encoded as image data) is transmitted to Google's servers for processing.
• Google's privacy policy governs how Google handles image data submitted to the Gemini API. You can review Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
Consistent with the California AI Transparency Act (SB 942), any content generated or assisted by AI within the App is labeled as AI-generated at the point of display.
AI use is subject to a separate in-app consent that you must actively accept before any image is processed by AI. You may decline AI identification and enter vehicle details manually at any time.
We use your information to:
• Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
• Enable social features such as sharing Spots, commenting, following, and car Meet RSVPs.
• Display Spots and Meets on the Globe map based on attached GPS coordinates.
• Calculate distances to nearby Spots and Meets ("Near Me").
• Moderate content and ensure a safe community (handling reports, blocks, and violations).
• Send push notifications if you have granted permission.
• Perform AI-assisted car identification via Google Gemini (only with your explicit prior consent).
We share data with the following trusted processors, strictly for operating the App:
• Supabase
— Database, file storage, and user authentication hosting. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Settings → Delete Account), the following happens:
• Your profile, email, and credentials are permanently deleted from our active database.
• All Spots you posted (photos, GPS coordinates, captions, and tags) are permanently deleted from our active database and storage.
• Your comments, likes, and follows are permanently removed.
• Deletion is irreversible.
Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged according to our backup rotation schedule.
CarZoo is not directed at children under the age of 13
. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our registration flow requires users to confirm they are 13 or older before an account can be created.If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will immediately suspend and delete their account and all associated data, including any AI-processed images. This also applies to our AI processing: we do not knowingly submit images from users under 13 to any AI system.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account on CarZoo, please contact us immediately at carzoosupport@gmail.com
so we can delete the account and its data.If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA:
1. Right to Know.
You may request a list of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months. 2. Right to Delete. You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. 3. Right to Correct. You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you. 4. Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out action is required. 5. Right to Non-Discrimination. Sensitive Personal Information.
We collect precise geolocation data, which is classified as sensitive personal information under the CPRA. We use it solely to provide core app functionality (map display, distance calculation). We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.CarZoo does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals. We do not engage in cross-site tracking of users for advertising purposes.
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and authenticated API access. However, no system is completely secure. In the event of a breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where required by law, by in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

You must be at least 13 years old
to create an account or use the App. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 13 or older. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will immediately terminate their account and delete all associated data. The App is available only to users located in the United States.You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.CarZoo is a community for authentic car spotting. You are solely responsible for all content you post ("User Content"). You agree that you will not
post, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that:• Contains violence or threats
— including graphic imagery, depictions of physical harm, or threats against any person or group.We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, remove, or restrict access to any User Content at our sole discretion, without notice.
You retain all ownership rights in the photos and content you upload. By posting User Content on CarZoo, you grant CarZoo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license
to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the App. This license terminates when you delete the content or your account, subject to our backup retention policy.The App uses Google Gemini AI to analyze vehicle photos and suggest make, model, year, and other attributes. You acknowledge and agree that:
• AI-generated identifications are estimates only
and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or incorrect.When you post a Spot, the GPS coordinates you select are permanently and publicly attached to that post
and visible to all users on the Globe map. You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the location you pin and for any consequences arising from making that location publicly visible. CarZoo is not liable for any harm resulting from publicly visible location data attached to your posts.CarZoo is an interactive computer service and a distributor of third-party content. Consistent with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230), CarZoo is not the publisher or speaker
of User Content posted by third parties. CarZoo is not responsible or liable for any User Content posted by users, including its accuracy, legality, or appropriateness. Users are solely responsible for their own content.CarZoo respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content on the App infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated DMCA agent at:

Your notice must include: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification of the infringing material and its location in the App; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement of good faith belief; (5) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury; and (6) your electronic or physical signature.
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will remove the identified content and notify the user. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
CarZoo reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, illegal activity, or at our sole discretion for any other reason. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases immediately and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may also delete your account at any time from within the App.
The App, its design, code, branding, and all content created by CarZoo are the exclusive property of CarZoo and its licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of any CarZoo intellectual property without our express written permission.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. CARZOO DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATIONS. YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARZOO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP; (B) ANY USER CONTENT POSTED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES; (C) INACCURATE AI-GENERATED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION RESULTS; (D) PUBLICLY VISIBLE GPS LOCATION DATA ATTACHED TO YOUR POSTS; OR (E) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP, EVEN IF CARZOO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL CARZOO'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CarZoo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights, including intellectual property rights or privacy rights.
Informal Resolution.
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at carzoosupport@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.Binding Arbitration.
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. You waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.Exceptions.
Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement or misappropriation of trade secrets.These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California
, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent any dispute must be resolved in court (e.g., for injunctive relief), you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
